Did You Know? - Fitness Stats!

PureGym fitness stats from 2023:

  • 66% of people in the UK say that they don't look after their health as much as they should (+1% from 2022).

  • 23% of the UK population currently do not consider themselves to be healthy from any point of view (physically, mentally, emotionally or socially).

  • 29% of 35-44 year olds don't feel healthy from any point of view (+5% since 2022).

  • Around 1/10 people aged 16-24 think that having a six pack or thigh gap is a good benchmark for health.

  • 1/4 of the population (26%) increase the frequency that they exercise on the run up to a holiday.

  • Almost 1/3 of people (30%) are most likely to reduce or stop their exercise in the run up to Christmas.

  • Women are more likely to consider themselves as being unhealthy (26%) compared to males (21%).

As shown in these stats, despite increased awareness of health post-pandemic, many still struggle to prioritise fitness.
